Join ELC and Co-Sponsors on April 8 for a Webinar on the Legal Rights of NJ Immigrant Students

A free, virtual information session entitled “Legal Rights of Immigrant Students in New Jersey’s Public Schools: An Information Session with the ACLU of New Jersey and the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest” will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 4:30-5:30 p.m

The webinar will be co-hosted by Education Law Center, New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages/New Jersey Bilingual Educators (NJTESOL/NJBE), New Jersey Consortium for Immigrant Children (NJCIC), and AAPI NJ.

New Jersey educators, advocates, community organizations, students and families are encouraged to attend. Participants must register in advance.

This webinar provides information about the rights of students and school district obligations. We will be discussing:

·     Student Data Privacy

·     ICE Enforcement Actions at Schools

·     School Registration

·     Resources for Families

Webinar registrants will receive a confirmation email after registering, and the zoom link will be emailed to registrants the day of the event at 1:30 p.m.
